Supportive Genetic Counseling Group Sessions
Are you thinking about enlarging your family, but feeling anxious or afraid? For some, the thought of having another child affected with a genetic condition or an hereditary cancer syndrome is paralyzing. Perhaps talking about your concerns with other parents in a similar situation would be helpful to you.
CPN is offering group peer counseling for parents thinking about having another child. The group will be facilitated by Mary-Frances Garber, a certified genetic counselor. Parents will commit to three 75 minute group sessions via Zoom video. This counseling is offered at no cost to families who live in states OTHER than the ones listed below (due to genetic counseling licensure limitations, families living in the states listed below cannot participate):
Please send an email to both kerri@courageousparentsnetwork.org and mfgcgc@yahoo.com if you are interested in this offering. An intake session will be scheduled and more details provided. For optimal experience, space is limited to 6-8 individuals.
An important NOTE with our apologies — State licensing laws that govern genetic counseling at the state-by-state level mean that families in the following states are NOT able to participate. This is because only counselors licensed to practice in the state can provide counseling in those states and MFG is not licensed in these states:

- Connecticut
- Deleware
- Hawaii
- Idaho
- Illinois
- Iowa
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Louisiana
