Parents of a baby son who was born with Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) and had 5 brain surgeries note the gap between the parents and the medical team in the NICU and what they did to bridge that gap and make the connection. “Our child’s life and death was occurring in a place that was also a work environment.” They note the importance of the nurses and what they did – “It was like being in communion with each other.”
