Coping with Loss

We can guess, but never really know, how we will feel when a child dies. Grief is a normal response to loss, although the feelings can change over time. There a sense of profound absence. Many families speak of intense loneliness and sadness. Some parents speak of the presence of their child. Over time, you may experience bursts of new energy, or lingering questions, or regret, or relief, or all of these. Family dynamics and other relationships may change. One thing is certain: life is different, and it will never be the same.
