Most parents have vivid memories of the day they learned that their child had a serious medical condition. Then they discover that receiving the news is one thing and internalizing it is quite another. After the initial shock there may be a sense that your family is now “different.” You may feel isolated, alone and scared. What happens now? Will your family survive this—will you?
